Associate Professor Santosh Sanagapalli

A/Professor Santosh Sanagapalli is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive and holistic care to patients with problems affecting the gastrointestinal tract.

 

He is skilled in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy. He has subspecialty expertise in the management of oesophageal disorders such as reflux, hiatus hernia and conditions affecting the swallowingachalasia, eosinophilic oesophagitis, strictures and others. He practices across the St. Vincent's campus in Darlinghurst but sees patients from all across the state with complex oesophageal disorders.

 

A/Professor Sanagapalli completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of NSW and clinical training in Gastroenterology at Concord and St. Vincent's Hospitals, Sydney. Subsequently he undertook further subspecialty training in oesophageal disorders during a clinical research fellowship at University College London Hospital, UK, one of London's most prestigious teaching hospitals.

 

In addition to clinical practice, A/Professor Sanagapalli has an academic interest and is passionate about improving patient outcomes through clinical research. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of NSW where he runs a productive clinical research program and is involved in teaching and assessment of medical students and junior doctors. Further, he has lectured at national and international Gastroenterology conferences and is a reviewer for articles submitted for publication in major international journals.
